Thanks G., for posting this, since i really feel '78 was a great year for Jerry shows, in particular the 10/28 show; in fact, after seeeing your post early this morning, i listened to that show yet again, it really is pretty fantastic all-around

As for the The_Bus torrent over at etree, i noticed that there is a Mccue recording for that 10/28 show, and i am wondering how it compares to the Severson recording ... i guess i'll soon find out :)

And let me echo William Tell and say it's great to see you posting again!

Hi T., thanks for replying. I'm glad you like the show as much as I do! But I kind of knew you would!

For me it's time to go to sleep - have a good weekend and I hope you're doing well.

Any other recommendations for 1978 JGB???

I D/L'd 10/28 based on your reccomendation....
Any other standouts???
I don't feel a need to have the entire project, so I was hoping to get a reccomend on a few of the meatier shows from that year to add to my collection..

Finster ... i'm not someone who keeps very detailed notes, which i probably should but i'm pretty lazy when it comes to that stuff, relying instead on my diminishing memory; that being said, for '78 Jerry shows, you can hardly go wrong performance-wise, but several sources do have sound issues

here's a short list of some of the shows i play more than most, i'm pretty certain you will not be disappointed, and in fact, be fairly impressed:

2/18/78 (#17750)
3/11/78 (#97862)
3/17/78 (#98255) 24bit
3/18/78 (#30119)
3/19/78 (#4440)
10/3/78 (#97200) - Merl Saunders Band w/Garcia
10/26/78 (#89962)

note #1: that for 3/17, there is a 16bit source as well, which you will want if you plan on burning to CD

note #2: 10/3 is actually Merl Saunders Band w/Jerry sitting in on guitar, it's definitely worth it, at least i think so

note #3: 6/18 (#12559) is also a really nice show, but i've only listened to about half the show so far, as i didn't have it until very recently!

Thank You Sir!!!!
I will definitely check these out!!

I like to try to cover all eras, so I try to limit my collection to a few shows from each year. Unless something really stands out to me, I try to get one from early in the year, one from summer, and one from later in the year. That way I can get somewhat of a sense of changes and progressions that they make thruout a given year...
